GURUKUL CHILDREN ACADEMY IN BELSAR (GONDA DISTRICT, U.P.) Raising funds for a multi-purpose school building The architectural design of the multi-purpose school building consists of 13 “building blocks”. Total required budget to construct the building is about INR 52 lakh. Each building block or unit costs about INR 4 lakh (on average). So far we received private donations up to about INR 20 lakh. This will pay for the construction of 5 units (five classrooms), which has already started early March 2014. Balance of funds to be raised: an additional INR 32 lakh is required for 8 more building blocks / units (five more classrooms, one office, one sanitation block and a staircase). Brief for Design & Construction of a Multi-Functional School Building for Gurukul Children Academy, Belsar

Objective of the project To finance the construction of a cost-effective multi-functional primary school building for 300 children in a rural Indian village called Belsar (Uttar Pradesh).               WHO ARE WE? We are World Without Obstacles (WWO), a small NGO and the only one working with children in Belsar, a rural village in Gonda District, a so-called backwards area in Eastern Uttar Pradesh (U.P.) in India. Our mission is to support the development of deprived communities, improve education, address public health, sanitation and environmental concerns and promote inter-cultural understanding around the world through cultural exchange, volunteer work and cultural activities.
